September 30th to October 2nd
Hello Folks,
Just a quick update to let you know that all is well with us. We departed Bristol Harbor at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday morning after our good friend Pastor Dan Randall piped us out to sea. (Thank you Dan!). Our first stopover was in Stonington Harbor in CT. From there we set sail on Friday for the Thimble Islands; a nice collection of little islands with cottages built atop pink granite bases. It was a nice, quiet and pleasant anchorage.
We are currently anchored in Port Jefferson, NY. The weather has really cooperated and to date we have covered a little better than 100 miles. Yeah I know, you can cover that much ground in a few hours in your car. But, this is much more interesting, trust me.
Dave is currently cooking up a big pot of chicken soup which Joop and Tula will be more than happy to share with us. Tomorrow morning we set sail for Oyster Bay. By early next week we should be somewhere in New York Harbor.
